| Can't see this email? View online | | Hurrah for the gooseberry! Life at River Cottage is always busy this time of year. The garden is bursting into life and our cookery school and events calendar is packed to the rafters with goings-on.
We had one of our busiest weekends ever at our recent Food Fair, with over 3,000 of you turning out. If you missed out, you can now catch up on all the action from the food demo stage.
As picking season gets under way here at the farm, we’re getting excited about our home-grown berries. It’s not all about the strawberry though, and right now we’re enjoying plentiful gooseberries in the kitchen.
Soft and pale green, the gooseberry is often overlooked but not so at River Cottage HQ. If you visit us in the next few weeks for a cookery course or dining event, you might find that we serve you up a delicious gooseberry tart or pan-fried mackerel with gooseberry salsa.
Not sure about the goosegog? Check out our recipe for green gooseberry and elderflower jam.
