The sun is currently beaming down on the River Cottage farm and the heady scent of summer flowers and fresh cut grass fills the air. The gardens are brimming with fresh produce, including cucumbers, sweet corn and tomatoes. So with such an abundance of produce our chefs are frantically making roasted tomato sauce, smoked tomatillo salsa and sauerkraut with the last of the summer cabbages, to name but a few, to capture the essence of summer to be used for the rest of the year. But don't wait too long, come and pay us a visit! The last weekend of August sees the eagerly awaited return of the River Cottage Festival as Hugh says "The River Cottage Festival is the highlight of the year, probably because it gives us a chance to meet and feed so many people'. We look forward to seeing you there! |
