The wind has been whistling around River Cottage HQ in recent days and the fields have been touched with frost. The steely skies have occasionally been lifted by glimmers of winter sunshine, gifting us a hint of heart-lifting pink skies as the sun sets for the night. In the Kitchen Garden, it feels as if the plants too are hibernating, not just the clever animals. The ground is still hard and the chefs are making the most of the root vegetables. It is at this time of year when the River Cottage classic of Potato Dauphinoise is most welcome, so we've included it here for you to enjoy. |
