The River Cottage tutors are a talented bunch. Each one has been carefully chosen not just for their expertise, but also passion for their craft. And this enthusiasm is infectious and our guests leave brimming with a newfound zeal for what they have learned.
So if you are looking for inspiration in the kitchen let them inspire you ...
Steven has been involved in River Cottage for many years and is the author of the River Cottage Handbooks - Curing & Smoking and Cheese & Dairy. He is a staunch advocate of home smoking, and the smell of his homemade bacon frying is to die for! @lambposts
Naomi is a nutritionist and is supremely knowledgeable about diet and gut health. She loves to get excited about the flavourful possibilities of free-from baking and is more than happy to answer as many questions on health and nutrition as she can manage during her courses. She is the author of River Cottage Gluten Free. @naomiannedevlin
Gill has been teaching at River Cottage HQ since it's inception and before that was to be seen alongside Hugh on many of River Cottage tv programmes. Gill's cooking is inspired by the amazing farmers, growers and fisherman nearby and his seasonal cookery makes the most of natural ingredients. In addition to contributing to River Cottage cookbooks, he is an award-winning author in his own right. @gill.meller
Rachel is our preserves tutor and a regular speaker at the River Cottage Fair and Festivals. She is involved in several local food initiatives and is the author of Less Meat, More Veg, FIVE and Tonics & Teas. During her course, you'll cover a wide range including marmalade, infusions and fermenting. @dethample
We have a team of talented chefs who are based at River Cottage full time and are regular tutors on many of our courses as well as the chefs for our dining experiences. All River Cottage chefs believe in the principles of sustainability and seasonal eating. Whatever course you do at River Cottage, you'll learn about the River Cottage ethos of cooking and eating.
Andy is our Head Chef here at HQ and is passionate about giving people the confidence to be more adventurous with their own cooking.
When Connor is not teaching he is likely to be found making his own English charcuterie.
Mark is a sourdough supremo, as his recent Instagram takeover demonstrated, he knows all there is to know about kneading, proving and baking.
Our regular tutors are all able to teach a wide range of courses, so you will find them teaching any of the below:
Join Steven on November 13th for an evening of fine wine, cheese pairings and menu tasters, in partnership with Lyme Bay Wine and Quicke's Cheese at our Axminster Kitchen.
