River Cottage has always been a place to escape to, a sanctuary from daily life and an opportunity to be immersed in the wild world. We work in rhythm with the seasons, and nurture health and wellbeing through many of our courses and events, welcoming guests to join us on our sustainable journey.

Taking this a step further, we have designed a series of four retreats at our stunning 17th century HQ and 100-acre smallholding. The inspirational programme includes some of our favourite elements of River Cottage combined with the skills of expert contributors, carefully designed to encourage a more holistic approach to life.

Mon 6 - Thurs 9 July

An immersive retreat focusing on yoga, breathing, wellness workshops and delicious food. Spend three days at River Cottage HQ practising yoga, learning more about breathing and meditation and find solutions to a chaotic life. Workshops will include understanding how to relax and sleep well, the art of wellbeing and living with purpose.

The retreat will be led by the author of best-selling 'Do Breathe', Michael Townsend-Williams.

Mon 13 - Thurs 16 July

Take time out and join us for a three-day retreat focusing on drawing practice and mindfulness. River Cottage is the perfect environment to encourage relaxation and rejuvenation. This is an invitation to drawers at all levels of ability, whether you are a beginner keen to get started, or an artist looking to develop confidence and technique. 

The retreat will be led by artist and professor Tania Kovats, and global consultant and psychotherapist Jane Sassienie.

Mon 20 - Thurs 23 July

Immerse yourself in the practicality and joy of gardening. This in-depth retreat will give you the time and space to learn and be inspired. Embrace designing, planting, growing and harvesting as well as creating the perfect environment to encourage relaxation and rejuvenation. 

The retreat will be led by a team of experts who specialise in different areas of horticulture.

Mon 27 -  Thurs 30 July

Join us for a three-day cookery and wellbeing retreat focusing on nutrition. The retreat will cover fermentation, gut health, fats, sugars and mindful eating. The retreat is designed for those who are keen to embrace healthier eating habits and develop confidence with ingredients. 

Our expert tutor, nutritionist Naomi Devlin will lead the workshops and share her extensive knowledge.

You can opt to stay in our recently renovated stylish 17th-century farmhouse. There are three spacious bedrooms; a luxurious master room with en-suite, a stylish twin and double bedroom with a shared bathroom. 
Or take a wilder approach in one of our cosy and comfortably furnished bell tents at the heart of the farm.
