If I were to choose just one thing we could all do in order to be healthier and feel more energised, to have a better relationship with food and with our environment, it would be this: eat more veg.

As we step into a new year and a fresh decade, Hugh's words have never been more apt.  Of all the good intentions and resolutions we may make, committing to something that considers both our planet and our health should be at the top of our list.

FOOD TO INSPIRE CHANGE is our motto at River Cottage. For the last 2 decades, Hugh and the team have shown this in their ground-breaking approach to sustainable eating with an unwavering commitment to food provenance and the environment. We have always championed responsibly sourced, local, organic meat as a treat rather than a staple ingredient and encouraged a more plant-based diet for its benefits to the individual and the planet. We are supporting Veganuary again this month, with some of our team members taking part and our Kitchens making veg the star of the menu. Hugh recently wrote a thought-provoking blog on vegan, vegetarian and limited meat diets so do have a READ.

We still offer the very best locally sourced organic meat and sustainable fish but we truly believe it's a good idea to be less reliant on meat and animal-based products.
