As the leaves turn and the days get cooler, escape to River Cottage for autumn on a plate.

At this time of year we light the fires, warm the hot toddies and embrace the seasonal produce in our indulgent and relaxing dinners. Take the tractor down the track to drinks and canapés in our cosy yurt, a wander around the kitchen garden and a celebratory seasonal feast introduced by our chef.

Friday 11th October

This autumnal extravaganza promises to be a highlight of the season.

Hugh has been closely involved in planning this amazing day-long event which includes a foraging foray with Head Gardner Helen Musgrave; joining Gill Meller for an outdoor cookery session; learning the art of fermentation with Rachel de Thample and a boozy workshop. Hugh will join the event for a Q&A, book signing and an aperitif before the evening feast.

For the ultimate autumnal get-away, come and stay in our recently renovated, stunning 17th-century Farmhouse at the very heart of the River Cottage 100-acre farm.

After a day's course or dining event, you can stroll across the courtyard and settle in by the roaring fire in the sitting room. And when it is time to turn in, head upstairs to one of our three stylish bedrooms with organic linen and well-stocked bathrooms. The following morning wake to the smell of your freshly cooked breakfast prepared by one of our chefs in the Farmhouse kitchen. Bliss.
