Our One Day Cookery Course will give you the techniques and ideas that will inspire you to get cooking at home. This course is suitable for those who have never cooked before or are looking to develop new skills.

On a recent one-day cookery course, students:
  • Learnt how to make a number of recipes including:
    • a traditional farmhouse loaf of bread
    • pan-roasted lamb
    • a slow-cooked courgette sauce
    • chinese fish parcels
    • a blackcurrant and lemon verbena panacotta.
  • Enjoyed practical, hands-on tuition on how to:
    • fillet a fish, and
    • safely use and sharpen knives at home
  • Sat down together to enjoy the feast they'd prepared throughout the day.

  • Learnt how to make over a dozen recipes, including:
    • sourdough bread
    • pan-roasted pollock with asparagus and shallot puree
    • fresh tagliatelle pasta
    • braised pork shoulder with red wine, leek, fava beans and soy
    • honey-baked rhubarb and lemon tarts
    • chocolate fondant with salted caramel roast pears
  • Enjoyed practical, hands-on tuition on how to:
    • fillet a fish, and
    • safely use and sharpen knives at home
  • Sat down together to enjoy the feast they'd prepared throughout the day.

Our four-day cookery course is a celebration of meat, fish, veg, baking and all things delicious.

Four Days at River Cottage is the ultimate cookery experience. The course covers every aspect of cooking - from sourcing ingredients, to preparing and making amazing food. You'll leave inspired, armed with new skills to use in the kitchen and an impressive collection of recipes to impress loved ones with for many years to come.
