Hello,

What a long, cold January it's been –though there's always a silver lining: we've had some beautiful snowfalls and stunning winter sunsets over Park Farm.  I even hosted a wintery dinner here as the fat snowflakes descended - and a cancelled filming day meant I go to do some tobogganing with the kids, too. Priceless.

We've been keeping busy whatever the weather, with lots of great courses going on. I popped into
Rachel's preserving course last week and the smell of bubbling marmalade was intoxicating.

As we eagerly anticipate warmer days, I'm delighted to welcome new head gardener Helen Musgrave, who's been planning this year's veg, herb and fruit crops. So lots of lovely roots, shoots, greens and beans to look forward to.

Talking of Veg, January saw the broadcast of a groundbreaking new TV ad designed to get kids eating more veg. The result of a collaboration between Veg Power, ITV and British supermarkets, it's something I've been proud to support as part of my Fat Fight campaign. I think it's clever and funny and will actually engage our kids with the vital matter of eating vegetables – it's desperately needed, with 80% of British primary school children currently not eating enough veg.  You can watch it at vegpower.org.uk.

Right, time to sow some tomato seeds.
Bye for now!

More dates for both Cookery Courses and Dining Experiences have been released so you can now book right up until the end of the year.
